Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS,DRAWINGS & ILLUSTRATIONS, which included the work Silver Pheasant by Charles Collins. The price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,366.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Collins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ornamental Birds In A Landscape, A Set Of Three in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 89,150.00 (€ 137,894.86).

Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH & CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS,DRAWINGS & ILLUSTRATIONS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Silver Pheasant von Charles Collins zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.366,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Collins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ornamental Birds In A Landscape, A Set Of Three im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 89.150,00 (€ 137.894,86).
