This artwork by Charles Christian Nahl achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021. In the California Art auction, the work Visit to Grandpa sold for USD 14,025.00 (€ 11,885.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles Christian Nahl; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lady with a Parrot sold at auction in January last year with the realized price of USD 17,640.00 (€ 15,733.14).
