Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled, 1995-1996 by Charles Benefiel for USD 750.00 (€ 676.10). This price was achieved in the auction Outsider Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Benefiel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hygienic Toys 2, 1995 in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,106.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled, 1995-1996 von Charles Benefiel für USD 750,00 (€ 676,10) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Benefiel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hygienic Toys 2, 1995 im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.106,36).
