Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Plums and an apple, on a mossy bank by Charles Archer. The price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,180.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Archer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grapes, plums, raspberries, and a peach, on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 2,702.50 (€ 4,363.38).

Im November 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plums and an apple, on a mossy bank von Charles Archer zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.180,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Archer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grapes, plums, raspberries, and a peach, on a mossy bank beobachtet, die im September 2001 für GBP 2.702,50 (€ 4.363,38) versteigert wurde.
