Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work The Fortune Teller by Charles-Antoine Coypel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 33,065.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles-Antoine Coypel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roland And The Marriage Of Angelique in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,554,500.00 (€ 2,723,128.78).
