Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La diseuse de bonne aventure by Charles-Antoine Coypel was auctioned at Christies in New York in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 21,420.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles-Antoine Coypel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roland And The Marriage Of Angelique in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,554,500.00 (€ 2,723,128.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La diseuse de bonne aventure von Charles-Antoine Coypel im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 21.420,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles-Antoine Coypel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roland And The Marriage Of Angelique im Januar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.554.500,00 (€ 2.723.128,78).
