Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abraham Preparing To Sacrifice Isaac; Abraham And The Angel by Charles-Antoine Coypel was sold in the Master Paintings: Part I auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 81,250.00 (€ 71,966.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles-Antoine Coypel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roland And The Marriage Of Angelique in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,554,500.00 (€ 2,723,128.78).
