Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included this untitled work by Chantal Joffe. The price achieved of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,421.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chantal Joffe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Mother and Child), which sold at auction in September last year for USD 90,720.00 (€ 92,732.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chantal Joffe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 22.680,00 (€ 26.421,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Chantal Joffe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Mother and Child) beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 90.720,00 (€ 92.732,29) versteigert wurde.
