Description
César (1921-1998) Le Château magique signé, numéroté et avec le cachet de fondeur 'César 5/8 Landowski' (sur la base) bronze à patine dorée 96.5 x 36 x 32 cm. Conçue en 1961 et réalisée en 1982, cette œuvre porte le numéro cinq d'une édition de huit exemplaires et quatre épreuves d'artiste. signed, numbered and with the foundry stamp 'César 5/8 Landowski' (on the base) bronze with golden patina 38 x 14 1 ⁄ 8 x 12 5 ⁄ 8 in. Conceived in 1961 and executed in 1982, this work is number five from an edition of eight and two artist's proofs.
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Château magique by César was auctioned at Christies in Paris in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 30,240.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by César achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Compression "Zim"Compressed Car in December 2015 with an auction result of EUR 627,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Château magique von César kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 30.240,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von César erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Compression "Zim"Compressed Car im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 627.000,00.
