The work Study for La Cathédrale Engloutie by Ceri Richards was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in December 2020. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,422.50 (€ 2,706.15), 62% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ceri Richards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 199,292.35).

Die Arbeit Study for La Cathédrale Engloutie von Ceri Richards wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.422,50 (€ 2.706,15) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ceri Richards erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 199.292,35).
