In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Portrait of George C. Troutman by Cecilia Beaux. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 78,000.00 (€ 63,163.01). With this result, Portrait of George C. Troutman is even the most expensive work of art by Cecilia Beaux that we have observed at auctions so far.
