Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian and Latin American Art, which included the work Head And Reclining Woman by Cecil Skotnes. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,993.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecil Skotnes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shaka Zulu, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 43,825.00 (€ 39,308.46).
