In October 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included this untitled work by Cecil Skotnes. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,774.15), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecil Skotnes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shaka Zulu, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 43,825.00 (€ 39,308.46).

Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Cecil Skotnes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.774,15) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cecil Skotnes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shaka Zulu beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 43.825,00 (€ 39.308,46) versteigert wurde.
