Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Plant Study by Cavendish Morton was sold in the 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE auction at Christies in London in October 2003. The price achieved of GBP 117.50 (€ 171.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cavendish Morton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge, which sold at auction in December 2002 for GBP 352.50 (€ 541.11).

Die Arbeit Plant Study von Cavendish Morton wurde im Oktober 2003 in der Auktion 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 117,50 (€ 171,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cavendish Morton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für GBP 352,50 (€ 541,11) versteigert wurde.
