A top price for Cavendish Morton - as previously expected
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge by Cavendish Morton. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 541.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge is the most expensive artwork by Cavendish Morton that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge von Cavendish Morton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 352,50 (€ 541,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge das teuerste Kunstwerk von Cavendish Morton, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
