A top price for Cavendish Morton - as previously expected
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge by Cavendish Morton. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 541.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Barge Going up River to Snape Bridge is the most expensive artwork by Cavendish Morton that we have observed at auctions so far.
