The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,575.77) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Catherine Opie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surfer for One Drop in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 264,000.00 (€ 227,155.39).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit 30 Minutes After Inauguration, 2009 von Catherine Opie kam im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.575,77) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Catherine Opie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surfer for One Drop im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 264.000,00 (€ 227.155,39).
