In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a gold satin gown, seated in a garden by Caspar Netscher. The »bidding war« ended at USD 24,000.00 (€ 19,434.77), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caspar Netscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Feeding A Parrot in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 3,720,233.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a gold satin gown, seated in a garden von Caspar Netscher zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 19.434,77) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caspar Netscher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Feeding A Parrot im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 3.720.233,75).
