Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in black; Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in black, holding a fan; and Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in grey by Caspar Netscher was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 611,250.00 (€ 722,425.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 22%. Admittedly, works by Caspar Netscher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woman Feeding A Parrot in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 3,720,233.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in black; Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in black, holding a fan; and Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in grey von Caspar Netscher wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 611.250,00 (€ 722.425,96) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 22%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Caspar Netscher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Woman Feeding A Parrot im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 3.720.233,75).
