This artwork by Caspar Netscher achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2011. In the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction, the work Portrait of a lady, seated three-quarter-length, in a grey silk dress with lace chemise, blue wrap and a pearl necklace, holding a branch in her left hand, a lamb at her side sold for EUR 20,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caspar Netscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Feeding A Parrot in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 3,720,233.75).

In der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, seated three-quarter-length, in a grey silk dress with lace chemise, blue wrap and a pearl necklace, holding a branch in her left hand, a lamb at her side für EUR 20.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 10.000,00.
