Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 60,000.00 (€ 46,160.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caspar Netscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Feeding A Parrot in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 3,720,233.75).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman von Caspar Netscher kam im Januar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 46.160,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caspar Netscher erzielen.
