Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carroll Sargent Tyson, Jr. could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings auction, the work Reclining Nude changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 2,768.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carroll Sargent Tyson, Jr. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Young Woman In A White Blouse in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,584.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carroll Sargent Tyson, Jr. konnte im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Reclining Nude für USD 4.375,00 (€ 2.768,11) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carroll Sargent Tyson, Jr. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Young Woman In A White Blouse im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.584,63).
