Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Gnarled tree formation; and Medusa on the beach, Luzon by Carlyle Brown for GBP 625.00 (€ 730.73). This price was achieved in the auction A Surreal Legacy: Selected works of art from The Edward James Foundation at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlyle Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Adam and Eve in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,960.90).
