Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Carlos Luna achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. In the Latin American Art auction, the work War-Hero sold for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,190.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Carlos Luna; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Jíbara sold at auction in November 2008 with the realized price of USD 40,625.00 (€ 32,003.31).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlos Luna erzielte im November 2007 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit War-Hero für USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.190,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Carlos Luna; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Jíbara im November 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 40.625,00 (€ 32.003,31).
