Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Esas La Mía by Carlos Luna was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2009. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 15,839.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlos Luna - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jíbara, which sold at auction in November 2008 for USD 40,625.00 (€ 32,003.31).

Die Arbeit Esas La Mía von Carlos Luna wurde im November 2009 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 15.839,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Carlos Luna mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jíbara beobachtet, die im November 2008 für USD 40.625,00 (€ 32.003,31) versteigert wurde.
