Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A PICTURE FRAME, CIRCA 1937 by Carlo Scarpa was sold in the The Collection of Paul F. Walter auction at Christies in New York in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,904.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Scarpa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Easel in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 174,100.46).

Die Arbeit A PICTURE FRAME, CIRCA 1937 von Carlo Scarpa wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion The Collection of Paul F. Walter bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.904,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Scarpa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Easel im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 174.100,46).
