This artwork by Carlo Maratti achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Recto: Study For Jael And Sisera; Verso: Study Of Jael sold for USD 93,750.00 (€ 84,512.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Maratti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tobias and the Angel in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 1,216,000.00 (€ 1,306,403.09).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlo Maratti erzielte im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Recto: Study For Jael And Sisera; Verso: Study Of Jael für USD 93.750,00 (€ 84.512,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Maratti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tobias and the Angel im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.216.000,00 (€ 1.306.403,09).
