Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cakes, bread, fruit, a rose, savoiardi biscuits and glasses on pewter plates with bottles in pails and decorated boxes on a partly draped table, white and blue porcelain cups and bowls with a glass jar on a ledge by Carlo Magini was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, Admittedly, works by Carlo Magini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meat on a chopping-board, a mortar, a glass of water, an earthenware pitcher, a candlestick, a cauliflower in a tureen with oranges, onions, spring-onions and bread on a kitchen table; and Fried eggs in an earthenware bowl, a wine casket and a glass, in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 153,600.00 (€ 222,795.35

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlo Magini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit [Meat on a chopping-board, a mortar, a glass of water, an earthenware pitcher, a candlestick, a cauliflower in a tureen with oranges, onions, spring-onions and bread on a kitchen table; and Fried eggs in an earthenwar
