Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Mourning Virgin (‘Madonna Addolorata’) by Carlo Dolci was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. The price achieved of USD 45,600.00 (€ 35,082.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carlo Dolci have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Agatha in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 248,750.00 (€ 278,903.45).

Die Arbeit The Mourning Virgin (‘Madonna Addolorata’) von Carlo Dolci kam im Januar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 35.082,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlo Dolci auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint Agatha im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 248.750,00 (€ 278.903,45).
