Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carlo Amalfi could be acquired at Sothebys in London in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Online | Part I: Property from the SØR Rusche Collection | Part II: Property from Various Owners auction, the work Portrait Of The Composer Niccolò Jommelli (1714-1774), Half-Length, In A Blue Coat And Satin Waistcoat changed hands for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,397.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Carlo Amalfi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Portrait Of Two Elegantly Dressed Boys In An Interior Playing With A Dog in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,499.17).
