The work Australian study For The Blue Monument No. 2 by Carl Olaf Plate was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The result of AUD 1,200.00 (€ 700.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Olaf Plate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Third Edge in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 15,535.00 (€ 9,169.48).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Australian study For The Blue Monument No. 2 von Carl Olaf Plate wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von AUD 1.200,00 (€ 700,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Olaf Plate erzielen.
