In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES, which included the work A young lady, facing right in gold-bordered pale yellow dress, red cashmere stole draped over her left shoulder, two-strand pearl necklace, her brown hair plaited and upswept by Carl Gottlob Schmeidler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,091.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Die Arbeit A young lady, facing right in gold-bordered pale yellow dress, red cashmere stole draped over her left shoulder, two-strand pearl necklace, her brown hair plaited and upswept von Carl Gottlob Schmeidler kam im Juni 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Gottlob Schmeidler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Count Curt Goetzen, facing right in blue coat with gold-bordered green collar, gold epaulette and loops, wearing the badges of the Royal Prussian Order of the Iron Cross and of the Imperial Russian Order of St Ann, brown hair and moustache; and his w im November 2001 mit ein
