Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Figures by a cottage in a river landscape by Carl Brennir. The price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,152.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Brennir - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Going fishing, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 2,937.50 (€ 4,600.16).
