Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2005 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work On the hill, Alkham, Kent, a sketch from nature by Carl Brennir. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 576.00 (€ 841.44), 15% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Carl Brennir have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Going fishing in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 2,937.50 (€ 4,600.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the hill, Alkham, Kent, a sketch from nature von Carl Brennir zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 576,00 (€ 841,44) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Brennir auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Going fishing im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.937,50 (€ 4.600,16).
