Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Memorial monument with trophies and an antique vase and a picture from a cave by Carl August Ehrensvärd was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 7,000.00 (€ 790.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl August Ehrensvärd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Goda gosse, glaset töm". Illustrations for drinking songs, 24. in December 2018 with an auction result of SEK 95,000.00 (€ 9,345.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Memorial monument with trophies and an antique vase and a picture from a cave von Carl August Ehrensvärd im Dezember 2013 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 7.000,00 (€ 790,48) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl August Ehrensvärd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Goda gosse, glaset töm". Illustrations for drinking songs, 24. im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 95.000,00 (€ 9.345,76).
