Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A River Landscape With The Holy Family And The Infant Saint John The Baptist by Carel Beschey was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 26,207.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Carel Beschey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Hunters And Skaters On A Frozen River Running Through A Village; A Summer Landscape With Villagers Resting By A Stream in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 163,847.11).
