The price achieved of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 11,866.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 90,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cao Kuiyin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waterfall In The Winter, which sold at auction in November 2004 for HKD 382,400.00 (€ 37,089.25).

Die Arbeit Dwellings in the Mountain von Cao Kuiyin kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 11.866,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 90.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cao Kuiyin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Waterfall In The Winter beobachtet, die im November 2004 für HKD 382.400,00 (€ 37.089,25) versteigert wurde.
