Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dwellings in the Mountain by Cao Kuiyin was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. The price achieved of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 11,866.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 90,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cao Kuiyin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waterfall In The Winter, which sold at auction in November 2004 for HKD 382,400.00 (€ 37,089.25).

Die Arbeit Dwellings in the Mountain von Cao Kuiyin kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 11.866,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 90.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cao Kuiyin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Waterfall In The Winter beobachtet, die im November 2004 für HKD 382.400,00 (€ 37.089,25) versteigert wurde.
