In December 2013 Christies in London held the auction Modern British& Irish Art, which included the work Storm Effect by Campbell Archibald Mellon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,510.67), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Campbell Archibald Mellon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 29,375.00 (€ 48,797.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British& Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Storm Effect von Campbell Archibald Mellon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.510,67) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Campbell Archibald Mellon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.375,00 (€ 48.797,72).
