This artwork by Campbell Archibald Mellon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2013. In the The Sunday Sale auction, the work Gorleston Sands sold for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,289.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Campbell Archibald Mellon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 29,375.00 (€ 48,797.72).
