Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Distant storm clouds, Beccles, Suffolk by Campbell Archibald Mellon was sold in the Victorian and British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in June 2010. The price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,800.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Campbell Archibald Mellon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 29,375.00 (€ 48,797.72).
