Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The cliff path, Hopton, Norfolk (recto); and The cliffs at Hopton (verso) by Campbell Archibald Mellon was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2014. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,342.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Campbell Archibald Mellon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 29,375.00 (€ 48,797.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The cliff path, Hopton, Norfolk (recto); and The cliffs at Hopton (verso) von Campbell Archibald Mellon kam im Juni 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.342,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Campbell Archibald Mellon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.375,00 (€ 48.797,72).
