This artwork by Campbell Archibald Mellon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2014. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Breaking waves, Gorleston sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,466.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Campbell Archibald Mellon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 29,375.00 (€ 48,797.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Campbell Archibald Mellon erzielte im Juni 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Breaking waves, Gorleston für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.466,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Campbell Archibald Mellon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit August Bank Holiday, Gorleston On Sea im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 29.375,00 (€ 48.797,72).
