In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel, which included the work Sam Possum the Hatter by Walter Harrison Cady. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,875.00 (€ 1,939.82), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Harrison Cady - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Newstand, which sold at auction in April 2014 for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,759.19).

Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sam Possum the Hatter von Walter Harrison Cady zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.875,00 (€ 1.939,82) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Harrison Cady mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Newstand beobachtet, die im April 2014 für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.759,19) versteigert wurde.
