In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel, which included the work Rabbit in snowy wood by Walter Harrison Cady. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,375.00 (€ 1,602.46), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Walter Harrison Cady have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Newstand in April 2014 with an auction result of USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,759.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rabbit in snowy wood von Walter Harrison Cady zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.375,00 (€ 1.602,46) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Harrison Cady auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Newstand im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.759,19).
