The work A Continental Harbour by C. Gessnitzer was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2005. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 873.84) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by C. Gessnitzer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A busy waterway, Antwerp(?), which sold at auction in August 2002 for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,225.29).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit A Continental Harbour von C. Gessnitzer kam im März 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 873,84) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von C. Gessnitzer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A busy waterway, Antwerp(?) beobachtet, die im August 2002 für GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.225,29) versteigert wurde.
