The work A busy waterway, Antwerp(?) by C. Gessnitzer was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in August 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,225.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A busy waterway, Antwerp(?) is the most expensive artwork by C. Gessnitzer that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit A busy waterway, Antwerp(?) von C. Gessnitzer wurde im August 2002 in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.225,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist A busy waterway, Antwerp(?) das teuerste Kunstwerk von C. Gessnitzer, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
