Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Buckeye James C. Blake could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Their Tails were All Matted and Their Backs were All Raw changed hands for USD 1,195.00 (€ 1,096.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Other works by Buckeye James C. Blake have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April this year by the work Striking the Northern Herd at USD 2,295.00 (€ 2,078.80).
