Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
When this work without title by Bruno Schmidt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 200.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at USD 2,142.00 (€ 1,839.10). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bruno Schmidt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Kenny Beat Off Forever), which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,786.38).
Kunstwerk zum Zehnfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Bruno Schmidt im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 200,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 2.142,00 (€ 1.839,10) mehr als zehnmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Bruno Schmidt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Kenny Beat Off Forever) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.786,38) versteigert wurde.
