Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online, which included the work Ibiokpo (framed) by Bruce Onobrakpeya. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,950.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bruce Onobrakpeya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zaria Indigo in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,325.00 (€ 69,401.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ibiokpo (framed) von Bruce Onobrakpeya zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.950,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bruce Onobrakpeya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zaria Indigo im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.325,00 (€ 69.401,78).
