Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2010 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work The Emperor's Ensignia by Brian Rice. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,803.58) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Brian Rice have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Whirler in September 2019 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,462.86).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Emperor's Ensignia von Brian Rice zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.803,58) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Brian Rice auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Whirler im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.462,86).
