Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work With Still Life by Brian Dunlop was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 200.00 – 400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 59.75 (€ 34.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brian Dunlop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eumeralla 2 in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 19,387.50 (€ 11,750.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit With Still Life von Brian Dunlop im November 2004 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 59,75 (€ 34,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Brian Dunlop erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eumeralla 2 im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 19.387,50 (€ 11.750,00).
